Sopron Basket win 1st-ever FIBA EuroLeague Women title

Hungary’s Sopron Basket won the FIBA EuroLeague Women title by beating Turkiye’s Fenerbahce 60-55 in the final on Sunday.

 

Gabby Williams led the Hungarian team to victory with 16 points at the Ulker Sports and Event Hall in Istanbul.

 

Both sides were former runners-up of the EuroLeague Women tournament, but Sopron came out on top and got their maiden title.

 

Fenerbahce have now become the runners-up for the fourth time in the tournament.

 

Earlier in the day, Spain’s Perfumerias Avenida beat Czech team ZVVZ USK Prag in the match for third place.

Mbappe, Neymar both make hat-tricks, PSG hammer Clermont 6-1

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) hammered Clermont Foot 63 with 6-1 in French Ligue 1 week 31 game on Saturday.

 

Both French star Kylian Mbappe and Brazilian star Neymar Jr. made hat-tricks for PSG at Stade Gabriel Montpied in Clermont.

 

Neymar drew the first blood in the 5th minute then Mbappe made it 2-0 in the 18th minute.

 

Jodel Dossou scored the only goal of Clermont in the 41th minute and the first half ended 2-1.

 

After Neymar scored from a penalty kick in the 70th minute, Mbappe made a double salvo in six minutes, in the 73th and 79th minutes.

 

Neymar scored again, just three minutes after the French star, and the game ended 6-1.

 

After the game, Kylian Mbappe currently tops the top scorer list of French Ligue 1 with 20 goals.

 

PSG lead the Ligue 1 standings with 71 points while Grenoble placed 17th with 28 points.

Turkiye’s daily power consumption down 4.91% on April 10

Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 4.91% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 827,582 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

 

Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,348 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,987 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).

 

Electricity production amounted to 827,548 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 4.74% compared to Friday.

 

Electricity production from hydro power plants constituted 20.3% of total generation, while run-of-the-river plants and lignite plants contributed 16.4% and 15.3%, respectively.

 

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 11,370 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,404 megawatt-hours.

Fenerbahce beat Galatasaray 2-0 in Super Lig derby

Fenerbahce won the Turkish Super Lig derby against Galatasaray 2-0 in week 32 game on Sunday.

 

Miha Zajc opened the score in the 26th minute and the first half ended 1-0 at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul.

 

Fenerbahce made it 2-0 with Serdar Dursun’s goal in the 68th minute and the match ended 2-0.

 

Fenerbahce placed are now placed second with 59 points, while Galatasaray lay at the 14th spot with 41 points in the Super Lig standings.

Spot market electricity prices for Monday, April 11

The highest electricity price rate for one megawatt-hour on Turkiye’s day-ahead spot market for Monday will be 2,345.01 Turkish liras at 21.00 local time (1800 GMT), according to official figures on Sunday.

 

The lowest is determined as 300.01 liras at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT), the figures show.

 

The Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data for the trade volume on Sunday’s electricity market showed a decrease of 1,213% to 915.68 million liras compared to Saturday.

 

The arithmetical and weighted average prices of electricity on the day-ahead spot market are calculated as 1,678.18 liras and 1,719.56 liras, respectively.

 

The highest electricity price rate for one megawatt-hour for Sunday was set as 779.64 Turkish liras at 20.00 local time (1700 GMT), with the lowest as 0.99 liras at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT).

Spot market natural gas prices for Saturday, April 9

The trade volume on Turkiye’s spot natural gas market showed an increase 104.7% to 99.5 million Turkish liras on Saturday, Turkiye’s Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data showed on Sunday.

 

Total trade on Friday amounted to 48.6 million liras.

 

On Saturday spot market, 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas cost 11,785.08 liras, while the cumulative natural gas trade volume amounted to around 8.44 million cubic meters.

 

Turkiye received 129.52 million cubic meters of pipeline gas on Saturday.

Embiid drops 41 as Sixers defeat Pacers 133-120 in NBA matchup

No winner in Premier League top spot battle between Man City, Liverpool

Manchester City drew 2-2 with Liverpool in the English Premier League week 32 game on Sunday.

 

City’s Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne drew first blood in the 5th minute at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Liverpool, who got their first draw after 10 consecutive league wins, have failed to clinch a win in their last five Premier League games against Manchester City.

 

The City top the league standings with 74 points, while Liverpool are placed second with 73 points.
