Major US stock indexes ended higher Tuesday, helped by the positive atmosphere during peace talks in Turkiye between Russia and Ukraine and ahead of the release of employment and consumer confidence data.
This week will see the release of important US economic data, including the monthly nonfarm payrolls report due out Friday.
The blue chip Dow Jones Industrial Average ended up 0.97%, or 338.3 points, at 35,294.
The S&P 500 rose 56.08 points, or 1.23%, to close at 4,631.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq climbed 264.73 points, or 1.84%, to 14,619.
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index ended Tuesday at 2,206.50 points, up sharply by 1.57% from the previous close.
Major Asian and European stock markets also closed Tuesday in positive territory.
