Two cases of measles in Cyprus since the beginning of 2024

Two positive cases of measles have been recorded in Cyprus from the beginning of the year until today. Both cases concern children, the Ministry of Health says in an announcement. The Ministry points out that no cases of measles were recorded in the last two years, adding that a small number of cases recorded in previous years concerned cases imported from abroad. The Ministry also says that since June 2023 there has been a steady increase in the number of measles cases in European countries. Most cases were reported in Romania, United Kingdom, Austria and France, while sporadic cases are recorded in many European countries. Source: Cyprus News Agency
