Turkiye’s stock exchange ends week at new all-time high

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul ended the week at 2,393.39 points, an all-time high closing level, on Friday with the backing of banking shares.

 

Starting the day at 2,141.09 points, the BIST 100 index surged 2.05% or 48.19 points from Thursday’s close of 2,345.20 points.

 

The benchmark index posted an advance of 7.31% this week.

 

One ounce of gold traded for $1,936.00 by market close, down from $1,940.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

 

The price of Brent crude oil was around $100.33 per barrel as of 6.12 p.m. local time (1512GMT), slipping 0.25% from the previous close.
