Turkiye’s daily power consumption down 1.6% on May 7

Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 1.67% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 776,287 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 36,517 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,039 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 774,411 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 1.85% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from hydropower plants constituted 24.1% of total generation, while run-of-the-river plants and wind energy plants contributed 16.8% and 15.6%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 9,699 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,575 megawatt-hours.
