Treasury issues data on highest paid government officials in 2024

The Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General, the President and the judges of the Supreme Court and the President and judges of the Supreme Constitutional Court are the highest paid government officials in Cyprus, with their annual earnings reaching pound 114,491.

According to data issued by the Treasury of the Republic of Cyprus the total net earnings of the above officials exceed the total annual emoluments of the head of the state, the President of the Republic, which amount to pound 114,039.

The President and the members of the Court of Appeal have annual salaries amounting to pound 103,415, while the fourth highest annual salary is that of the President of the House of Representatives with pound 92,731, and the fifth the one of the President of the District Court which is pound 92,332.

The Health Supervision Commissioner and the President of the Competition Protection Committee have an annual salary of pound 91,440.

The annual net salary of independent officials, such as the Auditor General a
nd the Accountant General of the Republic reach pound 89,147, similar to the level of Permanent Secretaries of Ministries, Director General of the House of Representatives, the Chief of Police.

The net salaries of Ministers and Deputy Ministers on an annual basis reach pound 75,674, while the salaries of MPs and religious representatives are pound 65,100.

The lowest net annual salary of an official is that of the Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic amounting to pound 41,155.

As it is noted, these annual earnings are based on the officials’ February 2024 payroll.
