PSV Eindhoven defended their KNVB Cup (Dutch Cup) title by beating Ajax 3-2 on penalties on Sunday, after the match ended 1-1. Ajax defender Jarrad Branthwaite's own goal gave the lead to PSV in the 42nd minute at the Feyenoord Stadium. But Thorgan Hazard equalized the score in the 67th minute, sending the game to extra time and penalties. Ajax's Brian Brobbey, Jurrien Timber and Edson Alvarez missed the shootout, and PSV grabbed their 11th title. The KNVB Cup is organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) since 1898.
