The University of Cyprus had the pleasure and honour to host the Heads of Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Cyprus on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. The event took place within the framework of the Annual Meeting of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions, which was held on the premises of the University of Cyprus.
During the event, greetings were given by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Andreas S. Kakouris and the Rector, Professor Tasos Christofides. This was followed by a presentation of the University of Cyprus by the Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Finance and Administration, Professor Ioannis Giapintzakis.
The Heads of Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Cyprus were thoroughly informed about the vision and mission of the University of Cyprus, the programmes of study, the dominant position it holds in various fields of research, the high-ranking positions in the most prestigious international university rankings, as well as about future aspirations and developmen
t plans of the university. In their turn, several Heads of Diplomatic Missions praised the work and accomplishments of the University of Cyprus which – as they assured – is highly regarded internationally, while expressing their pridefulness.
The strengthening of cooperation with the Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Cyprus is an essential factor for promoting the University of Cyprus internationally, directly contributing to the achievement of the University’s strategic goal of internationalization.
