President Christodoulides to attend EPP leaders meeting before the EU Summit

President Christodoulides will participate in the preparatory meeting of the European People's Party in Brussels on Thursday morning, before the beginning of the European Council meeting, according to a press release by the EPP on the agenda of the meeting. Democratic Rally (DISY) President Anita Demetriou will also participate in the meeting, as leader of the opposition party. President Christodoulides had also received an invitation from the Renew group, which includes French President Emmanuel Macron. However the meeting is taking place at the same time as the EPP meeting, that will be hosted by the EPP President Manfred Weber and will be attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola. Other participating leaders in addition to Christodoulides will be Latvian Prime Minister Krišjanis Karinš, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nhammer, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar. Deputy Prime Ministers Antonio Tajani from Italy and Vincent Van Peteghem from Belgium will also be attending the meeting. Representing the EPP parties which are in opposition in their member states along with Annita Demetriou will be Éric CIOTTI (France), Janez Janša (Slovenia), Luís Montenegro (Portugal), Alberto Núñez Feijóo (Spain), Søren PAPE POULSEN (Denmark), Urmas REINSALU (Estonia) and Claude Wiseler (Luxembourg)
