Galatasaray claimed a 1-0 win over Fraport TAV Antalyaspor on Sunday in the first week of the Turkish Super Lig.
Near the end of the first half, Antalyaspor were awarded a penalty kick after Haji Wright was brought down.
But Luiz Adriano missed his chance as Fernando Muslera made a save to deny him.
Neither team was able to break the deadlock at the New Antalya Stadium.
French forward Bafetimbi Gomis came off the bench to replace Yunus Akgün in the 89th minute.
After a minute, Galatasaray broke the deadlock with a close-range finish from Gomis.
