Borussia Dortmund fought hard on Saturday to beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-3 in a thrilling German Bundesliga match.
Dortmund’s Norwegian star Erling Haaland scored two goals, including the winner, in Leverkusen’s BayArena.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz scored the early opener to draw first blood. Haaland replied in minute 37 with a header.
The home team again took the lead as Czech forward Patrick Schick put the ball into Dortmund net to make it 2-1.
Borussia Dortmund leveled when Julian Brandt fired from close range in the 49th minute.
Moussa Diaby made it 3-2 for Bayer Leverkusen in the 55th minute, scoring from outside the penalty area.
Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro scored the equalizer in minute 71 with a classy freekick.
In the 77th minute, Haaland successfully converted a firm penalty to make it 4-3 for Borussia Dortmund.
Haaland, 21, who has been a Borussia Dortmund forward since 2020, has scored 45 goals in 47 Bundesliga appearances.
Borussia Dortmund have nine points in four league matches in the Bundesliga that is currently led by Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg won all four matches to bag 12 points.
German champions Bayern Munich are in second with 10 points.
Bayern Munich toppled RB Leipzig 4-1 in an away match on Saturday.
