Giannis-led undefeated Greece cruise past Estonia to win EuroBasket Group C

The Greek National Basketball Team on Thursday carried on their undefeated run in the FIBA EuroBasket 2022, beating Estonia 90-69 to win Group C.

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 25 points to guide Greece to a victory against Estonia in Milan, Italy.

But Antetokounmpo suffered a mild ankle sprain, the Greek basketball body confirmed on Twitter.

Estonian forward Siim-Sander Vene racked up 19 points to be his team’s top scorer at Forum di Assago.

On Sunday, Greece will take on the Czech Republic in a Round of 16 match.

On Thursday, the Czech Republic bagged the final ticket to the last 16 after beating Israel 88-77 in a Group D game in Prague.

Three Czech players – Vojtech Hruban, Tomas Satoransky, and Jan Vesely – combined for 55 points, 17 rebounds, and 17 assists.

Yam Madar scored 16 points, and Tomer Ginat earned 15 points for Israel.

The Czech Republic had a 2-3 win/loss record to finish Group D in the fourth spot, joining Serbia, Finland, and Poland for the next phase.

Israel have been eliminated after coming fifth in the group.

Berlin’s Mercedes-Benz Arena is set to host the EuroBasket knockout stages, including the final on Sept. 18.

The Round of 16 will begin on Saturday.
