Eriksen scores on his Denmark return at Parken where suffered cardiac arrest

Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen scored on his emotional return to Parken Stadium, where he suffered a cardiac arrest during a UEFA EURO 2020 match in June.

The Brentford midfielder played as team captain and contributed to Denmark’s 3-0 win over Serbia in a friendly match on Tuesday.

The 30-year old player netted his second goal in two matches since returning to Denmark.

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during a EURO 2020 clash against Finland in Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium on June 12.

He underwent a successful operation and was discharged from the hospital on June 18.

Eriksen did not make an appearance for Inter and his national team for several months before joining the English Premier League side Brentford on a free transfer during the winter transfer window.

As a three-time Dutch champion with Ajax, Eriksen helped Inter win the 2021 Italian Serie A title.
