Cyprus Football Association (CFA) speeds up its planning for the final phase of UEFA EURO U17 2024, the biggest football event ever held in Cyprus, between May 20 to June 5.
Details of the planning procedures were unveiled during a press conference organized by CFA Monday.
Education, Sports and Youth Minister Athena Michaelidou said that this is a great opportunity for Cyprus to showcase its football talents and for the country to be promoted getting great exposure through all televised matches.
She said that the Ministry will support the event and wished every success to the Cypriot footballers who will participate with the National Team.
CFA Head George Koumas spoke about the significance of Cyprus hosting this event and made special reference to CFA choosing sailor Pavlos Kontides and paraswimmer Karolina Pelendritou as Ambassadors of the event.
He said that Cyprus will be promoted as a tourist and sports destination as well.

en as Ambassadors and sent a message to all young athletes that nothing is impossible.
During the press conference the organizers unveiled the song “Kick Kick Kick” which was put together in collaboration between CFA and the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth.
The song with lyrics in English and Greek is performed by Myrto Economidou, Demetris Kanides and Evita Harilaou.
The filming of the video clip took place in various spots in Cyprus with the participation of football players and coaches of the National Men’s, Women’s and Children’s U17 teams, the Ambassadors Pavlos Kontides and Karolina Pelendritou, boys and girls from football academies as well as dancers from the Cypher Dance School.
