Austria’s annual inflation spikes to 47-year high

Austria’s annual inflation rate surged to 8.7% in June, the highest mark since September 1975, according to official figures released on Tuesday.

Fuel, food and household energy were the most significant price drivers, the country’s statistics office said.

The inflation rate was 63.2% for fuels, 109.6% for heating oil, 71% for natural gas, and 11.5% for food.
