5.8 magnitude earthquake jolts Japan’s Fukushima


ANKARA: A 5.8 magnitude earthquake jolted Japan’s Fukushima on Thursday, according to local media reports.

However, GEOFON, a global seismological broad-band network operated by the German GeoForschungsZentrum, said the magnitude was recorded at 6.0 on the Richter scale.

The US Geological Survey put the magnitude at 5.6.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or infrastructure damage.
