Bitdeer Announces Mining Expansion with SEALMINER Mining Machines

SINGAPORE, March 26, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ: BTDR) (“Bitdeer” or the “Company”), a world-leading technology company for blockchain and high-performance computing, today announced a hash rate expansion plan of approximately 3.4 EH/s as a first step in a plan to expand its self-mining.

The Company intends to install its own recently announced SEALMINER A1 miners at its mining datacenters in Rockdale, Texas in the United States; and, Norway in Q3 and Q4 2024 to accomplish this initial 3.4 EH/s expansion. Bitdeer will add approximately 4.8 EH/s of hash rate and retire 1.4 EH/s of older mining rigs. This expansion is expected to grow the total proprietary hash rate from 8.4 EH/s to approximately 11.8 EH/s.

Several similar expansions for its mining hash rate are expected to follow in subsequent quarters until the end of 2025. The Company estimates that it will feasibly add 30 – 40 EH/s in its mining datacenters to be operational in 2025 and replace an estimated 7 EH/s of existing generation mining rigs with newer generation ones. This will result in an estimated 23 EH/s of hash rate addition within existing and under-construction datacenters. Bitdeer may not include the total new mining power as part of the Company’s balance sheet, as it may seek cloud hash rate, cloud hosting and other ways to fund expansion plans. The total hash rate under management as of the end of 2025 may exceed 46 EH/s.

Linghui Kong, Chief Business Officer of Bitdeer, commented, “We expect our fleet efficiency to greatly improve by using our own miners. We have full faith in the capability of the SEALMINER A1 and are demonstrating this trust by installing it in volume at our own facilities first. We can ensure the quality of our products sold to customers by field testing the mining rigs first in our mining datacenters.”

The SEALMINER A1 is powered by the SEAL01 chip, one of the most power-efficient mining chips in the market today. After announcing the chip, the team continues to work on mass production according to plan.

Palestinians live in ‘open prison’: Iranian envoy to Trkiye

ANKARA: Palestinians live in an "open prison" in the Gaza Strip, Iranian Ambassador to Trkiye Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh said Monday. The blockade of Gaza, the displacement of the Palestinian people and the seizure of their lands have continued for 70 years, Habibollahzadeh told reporters in the capital Ankara. Israel has refused to end the killing in Gaza, he said, adding: "Preventing the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza is nothing but murder and genocide." Regarding the recent UN Security Council resolution on a Gaza cease-fire, the ambassador said that stopping the war "even for one day" would save lives and Iran would support it. He added that despite resolutions on Palestine passed in the UN since 1948, Israel is "trying to seize Palestinian lands step by step." The UN Security Council passed a resolution Monday demanding a cease-fire in Gaza during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which began on March 11 and is set to end on April 9. Fourteen council members voted in favor of the resolut ion presented by 10 elected members of the body while the US abstained. Israel has waged a deadly military offensive on the Palestinian territory since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas in which some 1,200 Israelis were killed. More than 32,333 Palestinians have since been killed and over 74,694 injured amid mass destruction and shortages of necessities. The Israeli war has pushed 85% of Gaza's population into internal displacement amid acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60% of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN. Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza. Source: Anadolu Agency

UN cease-fire resolution ‘binding’ on Israel: China

ISTANBUL: China reiterated Tuesday that 'UN Security Council resolutions are binding' on Israel -- specifically concerning the Gaza Strip and rejecting US claims to the contrary. China 'calls on the parties concerned to fulfill their obligations under the UN Charter and to take due action as required by the resolution,' Lin said in response to a question by Anadolu about comments by the US top envoy to the UN who claimed a resolution passed Monday was 'non-binding' on parties to the conflict in Gaza, which has been under an onslaught by Israel since Oct. 7. More than 32,333 Palestinians have since been killed and over 74,694 injured amid mass destruction and shortages of necessities. The UN Charter stipulates that all Security Council resolutions are legally binding under international law. The Council passed a resolution demanding a cease-fire in Gaza during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, which began March 11 and is set to end April 9. Fourteen countries on the 15-member Council voted in favor of th e resolution that was presented by 10 members. The US abstained. The resolution demanded an "immediate cease-fire for the month of Ramadan respected by all parties leading to a lasting sustainable cease-fire." It also insisted on the "immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, as well as ensuring humanitarian access to address their medical and other humanitarian needs." After the resolution passed, the Chinese top diplomat to the UN, Zhung Jun, told the Council: "If fully and effectively implemented, (the resolution) could still bring long-awaited hope. Security Council resolutions are binding." Without directly naming the US and Israel, Lin said Beijing 'expects the state with significant influence to play a positive role on the party concerned, including by using all necessary and effective means at their disposal to support the implementation of the resolution.' The Council 'must continue to follow closely the situation in Gaza and get ready for further actions when necessary to ensure the timely and full implementation of the resolution,' said Lin. 'China will continue to make unremitting efforts together with all parties to bring an early end to the fighting in Gaza, alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe, and implement the two-state solution,' he added.
