دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة, 7 ديسمبر / كانون أول 2022 /PRNewswire/ — كشف بنك ستاندرد تشارترد اليوم عن تقرير توقعات الثروات لعام 2022 والذي يدرس التغييرات التي تشهدها قرارات المستثمرين وتأثيرها على فئات الأصول الاستثمارية الرئيسية في أكثر من 14 دولة، بما في ذلك دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.

ويظهر التقرير، الذي يستطلع آراء أكثر من 15,000 من الأثرياء وأصحاب الثروات ( HNW )، أن 61٪ من المستثمرين المحليين يديرون ثرواتهم بشكل أكثر فاعلية ويقومون بتغيير استراتيجياتهم الاستثمارية في ظل التحديات الاقتصادية العالمية التي يشهدها العالم في الوقت الحالي.

التفوق على التضخم المالي

أشار المستثمرون في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة أن أبرز التحديات التي تشكل قلق لهم تضم كل من التضخم (30٪) وخطر الركود (21٪) وعدم اليقين من أداء الاقتصاد العالمي (20٪). ويعد ارتفاع التضخم (34٪) والركود (27٪) والاقتصاد العالمي غير المستقر (22٪) من المخاوف الرئيسية للمستثمرين على المستوى الدولي أيضًا.

وفي العام الماضي، قام المستثمرون في دولة الإمارات بعدد من الاجراءات الاحترازية، مثل تخفيض الإنفاق (29٪) واتخاذ قرارات جديدة حول محافظهم المالية (27٪)، الامر الذي قد يؤدي إلى تحركات ملحوظة في فئات الأصول الرئيسية.

ولتجاوز التضخم، يتطلع 61٪ من المستثمرين العالميين إلى تقليل حيازاتهم النقدية، مقارنة بـ 71٪ في الإمارات العربية المتحدة. ويتوقع بنك ستاندرد تشارترد بأن تنخفض المخصصات النقدية في المحافظ المالية على مستوى العالم من 26٪ في عام 2022 إلى 15٪ في عام 2023، وذلك وفقًا لاستجابات المستثمرين.

كما يعيد المستثمرون النظر في حيازاتهم للأسهم مع ظل زيادة تقلبات السوق، على الرغم من أن فئة الأصول هذه ستظل جزءًا لا يتجزأ من المحافظ المالية. ومن بين أولئك المستثمرون، هناك مؤشر على أن تخصيص الأسهم في محافظ المستثمرين في دولة الإمارات سينخفض من 10.1٪ إلى 6.9٪ في العام المقبل بناءً على ردود الاستطلاع.

وتعليقًا على التقرير، قال الدكتور أوين يونغ، رئيس إدارة الثروات والأثرياء في إفريقيا والشرق الأوسط وأوروبا في بنك ستاندرد تشارترد : “يواجه المستثمرون في دولة الإمارات واقعًا معقدًا، في ظل قلقهم الناتج عن التضخم وخطر الركود وأداء الاقتصاد العالمي غير المؤكد، الأمر الذي يتماشى مع تحديات المستثمرين حول العالم. وقد كشف تقرير ستاندرد تشارترد بأن المستثمرين في الإمارات يقومون بإجراء تغييرات على محافظهم المالية استجابة لهذه التحديات العالمية، الأمر الذي يرفع من أهمية اتخاذ قرارات تساهم في تحقيق أهدافهم على المدى الطويل وتأخذ عين الاعتبار البيئة الاقتصادية العالمية.”

والجدير بالذكر أن الذهب لا يزال في هذا العام يحظى باهتمام كبير من قبل المستثمرين في دولة الإمارات، حيث قال 51٪ بإنهم قد استثمروا بفئة الأصول هذه نتيجة للتضخم. هذا بالإضافة إلى التركيز على الاستثمار في الأسهم ذات القيمة (45٪) والسندات (45٪) ضمن استراتيجيتهم لمكافحة التضخم المالي العالمي خلال عام 2022.

وتستمر الاستثمارات المستدامة في تلقي اهتمام المستثمرين ورؤوس أموالهم، وذلك بالرغم من استمرار مخاوف الغسل الأخضر( Greenwashing ). كما يتوقع أكثر من نصف المستثمرين العالميين (52٪) زيادة استثماراتهم المستدامة في عام 2023 بينما يؤكد 54٪ من المستثمرين في الإمارات بأنهم سيفعلون ذلك.

تستمر الأصول الرقمية في إثارة اهتمام المستثمرين

يكشف التقرير أن 72٪ من المستثمرين المحليين ما زالوا يعتقدون أن الأصول الرقمية هي جزء مهم من أي محفظة استثمارية، على الرغم من الانتكاسات المتعددة في السوق هذا العام. ففي الوقت الحالي، يمتلك 66٪ من المستثمرين العالميين أصولًا رقمية، مقارنة بـ 73٪ في الإمارات العربية المتحدة. وبالنظر إلى المستقبل، يخطط 71٪ من المستثمرين المحليين الذين شملهم الاستطلاع لزيادة استثماراتهم في الأصول الرقمية في العام المقبل. ويرجع ذلك جزئيًا إلى أن الكثيرين قالوا إنهم قد رأوا أشخاصًا يحققون عوائد كبيرة من الأصول الرقمية (36٪)، بينما 36٪ من المستثمرين في الدولة يعتبرونها طريقة جيدة لتنويع محافظهم. ومع ذلك، من المهم ملاحظة أن هذا الاستطلاع قد تم إجراؤه قبل انهيار FTX وأن أحداث الأسابيع القليلة الماضية قد تضعف هذا الشعور.

‫ ‫صافي أرباح “كابيتال للاستثمارات” تقفز بنسبة 46% وتصل إلى 5.64 مليون دولار مع نهاية الربع الثالث من العام الجاري

t Kitts and Nevis upgrades its citizenship by investment programme to boost its hospitality industry

Basseterre, Dec. 07, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Saint Kitts and Nevis is boosting its local hospitality and tourism sector with investments received through its citizenship by investment programme.

This is according to the recently elected Prime Minister of the twin-island federation who concluded a four-day visit to Dubai, from 29 November to 3 December 2022.

Prime Minister Terrance Drew was in the state to engage with important stakeholders including high-level government officials, international investors, government-approved agents and promoters, who play a vital role in promoting and supporting the country’s recently upgraded citizenship by investment programme.

With the country’s citizenship by investment programme undergoing a facelift, Prime Minister Drew said the changes to the programme were not just superficial but would ensure that the programme achieved what it was designed for – strengthening St Kitts and Nevis’ economy.

Traditionally, the economy of the two-island state has depended on the growing and processing of sugar cane, but the impact of decreasing world prices on this commodity over the last few decades has moved the government’s attention to tourism, export-oriented manufacturing, and offshore banking.

Tourism is the mainstay of St Kitts and Nevis’ economy, with the United States, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago being some of its trop trade partners. The travel and tourism sector accounted for one-tenth of the gross domestic product (GPD) in St Kitts and Nevis in 2021 and it is estimated that roughly 200,000 tourists visited the islands in 2009.

With a revamped citizenship by investment programme that will be underpinned by better legislative and administrative oversight, Prime Minister Drew said he was confident that the programme would have even more impact on the country’s tourism sector.

The new cabinet aims to ensure that the destination continues to make strides towards the full resumption of tourism activity, including the return of airlift and cruise ship arrivals, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life of the people of the Federation.

Recently during November this year, Wonder of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship, made its inaugural call to Port Zante in St Kitts and Nevis. This cruise call has also been the fifth inaugural cruise call to St Kitts and Nevis since October 2022.

CGTN: China sees off Comrade Jiang Zemin, pooling strength for striving forward

BEIJING, Dec. 7, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Chinese people plunged into grief after hearing the news of the passing of their former leader Jiang Zemin, who died on November 30 in Shanghai at the age of 96.

People across the country paid a three-minute silent tribute on Tuesday morning when a mourning session was held at a solemn memorial meeting.

Addressing the memorial meeting in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping Tuesday said “We hold Comrade Jiang Zemin in high esteem, and cherish the memory of Comrade Jiang Zemin because he devoted his life to the Chinese people, and worked tirelessly throughout his life to contribute to the cause of national independence and the liberation of the people, and to the prosperity of our country and the well-being of our people.”

Jiang Zemin’s great, glorious life

In his eulogy, Xi hailed Jiang’s glorious life, saying the great achievements of the Party and country in the 13 years since the fourth plenary session of the 13th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee were inseparable from Jiang’s great talent, key role, and exceptional art of political leadership as a Marxist statesman.

Xi pointed out in the face of a complex environment both abroad and at home, it was Jiang who lead the central collective leadership of CPC to unite the Party and Chinese people of all ethnic groups to unswervingly uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Apart from scoring great achievements in leading the modernization of the national defense and the armed forces, Jiang also pooled the wisdom of the whole Party to formulate the Theory of Three Represents, according to Xi.

The Theory of Three Represents highlights that the Party always represents the developmental demands of China’s advanced productive forces, the orientation for China’s advanced culture, and the fundamental interests of the greatest possible majority of the Chinese people.

Xi emphasized the theory’s outstanding contribution stressing it further answers the questions of what socialism is and how to build it, and creatively addresses what kind of Party to build and how to build it. “It has deepened the understanding of rules to advance the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and strengthen Party building in the new conditions.”

Xi also praised Jiang for leading the country to tackle a series of international emergencies concerning China’s sovereignty and security, overcoming difficulties and risks cropping up in the political and economic spheres and those brought by natural disasters, and in particular successfully coping with the impact of the Asian financial crisis and winning a complete victory in the disaster relief efforts during the floods in 1998.

Jiang guaranteed the great ship of China’s reform, opening-up, and socialist modernization forges ahead on the right track, Xi said.

Condolences pour in from home, abroad

Shortly after Jiang Zemin’s passing was announced, hundreds of bouquets of flowers could be seen at significant places in the life of the late Chinese leader.

Floral tributes were placed on the doorstep of Jiang’s residence in his hometown of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, as well as in a square at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, his alma mater.

On Monday, people from all walks of life in Beijing lined the streets to see off Comrade Jiang, expressing their deep sorrow as the hearse journeyed from the Chinese PLA General Hospital to the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.

In Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Macao SAR, people from all walks of life went to the Liaison Office of the two SARs to express their condolences.

Eric Chu, chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang party, as well as Taiwan compatriots on the mainland, also expressed their condolences over the passing of Jiang.

Leaders of many countries and international organizations have also expressed their deep condolences by phone, letter and other means to President Xi over the passing of Jiang.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that Jiang had firmly advocated China’s international engagement, promoted China’s great economic progress and its successful entry into the World Trade Organization, and led China in hosting the landmark Fourth World Conference on Women.

Turning grief into positive action

Noting Jiang’s death as an inestimable loss to the Party, the military and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, Xi called on the whole Party, the entire military and the people of all ethnic groups to turn grief into strength, carry forward Jiang’s legacy and express their grief with concrete actions.

He urged the country to learn from Jiang’s revolutionary spirit, calling for striving in unity to build a modern socialist country in all respects and advance the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts.

“The people are the fundamental force that determines our Party and country’s future.” Xi said when stressing the need to always put the people first. He also called the reform and opening-up a crucial move in determining the future and destiny of contemporary China.

“China’s development cannot be achieved without the world, and the world also needs China for its prosperity,” the Chinese president said, adding the country will remain committed to promoting peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit, and work to build a new type of international relations and a human community with a shared future.

2022 Yidan Prize Summit: Providing a Platform to Spotlight Educator Development and Empowerment

HONG KONG, Dec. 7, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Yidan Prize Foundation, the global philanthropic foundation behind the world’s highest education accolade, hosted the 2022 Yidan Prize Summit yesterday.

Teachers are facing more—and more complex—challenges than ever before. The United Nations called on us all to better support teachers at the Transforming Education Summit (TES) in September. This year’s Yidan Prize Summit brought together leading lights in education, policy, and philanthropy to discuss what it means to be a teacher today—and tomorrow.

In a series of panels, speakers discussed impactful ways to support educator development and empowerment, the importance of building connections between education policy and practice, innovations in STEM teaching and learning, and how collaboration can drive change in the classroom.

Dr Linda Darling-Hammond, the 2022 Yidan Prize for Education Research Laureate, was joined by education experts to discuss challenges and opportunities that have arisen in education during the pandemic. She highlighted the teacher preparation programs that have successfully prepared teachers for a changing world, drawing on examples from education systems in China, New Zealand, Singapore and the US. Panelists also discussed the importance of building connections between research, practice, and policy.

In the second panel, 2020 Yidan Prize for Education Research Laureate and Founder of PhET Interactive Simulations, Professor Carl Wieman, was joined by Dr Kathy Perkins, Director of PhET Interactive Simulations, and Zachariah Mbasu, Africa PhET Ambassador. They discussed how innovations such as PhET’s interactive math and science simulations can be powerful tools in the classroom by removing barriers and giving learners a more active role in the learning process. They also talked about how programs such as the PhET Fellowship are helping to accelerate the adoption of engaging and research-based teaching and learning practices in STEM education.

In another panel, Professor Yongxin Zhu, the 2022 Yidan Prize for Education Development Laureate, shared powerful examples of teacher motivation and professional development practices, drawing on over 20 years’ experience at the New Education Initiative in China. Panelists shared strategies for building strong peer networks, which connect and empower teachers to learn from one another. They also talked about how online learning hubs have transformed and scaled teachers’ learning opportunities online—all the more important in the context of the pandemic and beyond.

The summit also explored the evolving role of philanthropy. Representatives from The D. H. Chen Foundation and Bei Shan Tang Foundation highlighted the importance of collaborating with education stakeholders to support local teacher professional development. Teachers from a number of Hong Kong schools also shared examples of pilot programs that are proactively preparing educators to nurture future-ready students.
