Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 14% on June 20

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 14.7% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 908,984 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,743 megawatt-hours at 15.00 a.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,461 megawatt-hours at 07.00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 901,120 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 3.18% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from natural gas energy plants constituted 27.4% of total generation, while hydro power plants and imported coal plants contributed 17.7% and 17%, respectively.

On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,631 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,495 megawatt-hours.
