Nikkiso Cryogenic Services Recommissioned Air Separation Plant in India for Critical Oxygen Supply

TEMECULA, Calif., July 27, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries’ Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Group), a subsidiary of Nikkiso Co., Ltd (Japan), is proud to announce they have completed the recommissioning of an Air Separation plant in Patancheru, Hyderabad India. This project was done in coordination with the Telangana government (TEL), and Greenko Foundation (GKO).

Due to the ongoing pandemic crisis in India, the Indian government initiated a directive to restart the operation and LOX production to meet the urgent demands for medical oxygen. GKO has taken the old shut-down Oxygen plant on rental basis from Air Water India Private Limited (AWI) for period of (2) two years.

In May 2021, the Group partnered along with GKO in recommissioning of the plant. Nikkiso Cryogenic Services provided critical technical support and spare parts, including nozzle actuators and vibration components, and Nikkiso Cosmodyne India Pvt. Ltd. provided field service support. Critical components which typically take 12-14 weeks were provided in three days to support this urgent request. By June 22nd, the site was fully operational again.

Synchronoss Names Christina Gabrys Chief Legal Officer

Turkey-Azerbaijan ‘1 nation, 2 states’ not just a phrase: Parliament speaker

The famed phrase on Turkish-Azerbaijani ties “One nation, two states” is not just a slogan but “reality,” said Turkey’s parliament speaker on Wednesday

The most concrete proof of these close ties is Turkey’s support for Azerbaijan during last fall’s conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, Mustafa Sentop told reporters in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, where he met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

Later, Sentop met with Turkish businesspeople and representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

He stressed that relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are also important for the Central Asian Turkic republics.

He stated that travel between the two states using only national ID cards – with no need for passports – started this April, and negotiations for making free trade easier are underway.

Underlining that the reconstruction of the Karabakh region in the wake of the conflict also carries importance, Sentop said that Turkey wants to take a larger role in the process.

Investments and economic activities in the Caspian Basin are important for Turkey since economic and trade ties have become more significant for the two countries, he said.

Azerbaijan is closely watching developments for realizing the Zangezur corridor, which is supposed to connect Azerbaijan with its exclave of Nakhchivan, said Sentop.

He said that this is important for Turkey, as it will link the country with Azerbaijan and the Central Asian Turkic republics by land.

Telling how the trade volume between the two countries is expected to be $15 billion in 2023, he added that this goal could also be reached long before then.

Turkey’s Kayseri added to UNESCO Creative Cities Network

Turkey’s central province of Kayseri has been added to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in field of gastronomy for its rich cuisine, a local official said on Wednesday.

Kayseri city mayor Memduh Buyukkilic said that a special commission was formed within the municipality which carried out hard work and managed to enter the network.

He emphasized that the municipality continues its efforts to make the city a tourism center of the region.

“Kayseri, our ancient city, which has been the cradle of many civilizations since the earliest times of history and maintains its importance in every period, has also proven itself in the field of gastronomy,” Buyukkilic said.

Besides its agricultural, economic, cultural, commercial, and geopolitical importance, Kayseri is also home to lots of food varieties, he also said.

“We continue our efforts to introduce all our foods to the world,” he added.

The UNESCO Creative Cities Network was created in 2004 to promote cooperation with and among cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable urban development.

At least 180 cities, which currently make up this network, work together towards a common objective: placing creativity and cultural industries at the heart of their development plans at the local level and cooperating actively at the international level, according to the UNESCO website.

Turkish businessman donates equipment to medical faculty in Idlib, Syria

A Turkish businessman who liquidated a hospital in eastern province Van donated all of the medical equipment to Idlib University Hospital.

Patient beds, surgical kits, operating tables, and stretchers were delivered to the faculty.

Millions of residents live in Idlib with limited medical services in the region.

The faculty has hundreds of medical students at all levels and an academic team in many professions.

Helping hand

“We knew the Idlib faculty requires medical equipment and we also had a liquidated hospital, together with my partner, we decided to donate the equipment of our hospital,” said donor Zulfikar Cabbaroglu.

With the help of Turkish associations Ozgur-Der, Fetihder, and the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), all the equipment was delivered.

“We have provided many devices such as patient beds, mammography devices, gynecology units, and operating room equipment,” he said.

The financial value is not important. The important thing is to be able to give needy people a helping hand, said Cabbaroglu.

“I also participated in different works such as houses and food aid for needy people in Idlib before, but the hospital work was more important because it required a serious financial burden of 5 – 6 million liras ($650,000),” he said. “From now on, we will do our best to heal the wounds in Idlib.”

Several devices

“We visited Idlib University Hospital in the last Ramadan [May] and we saw it requires several types of medical equipment,” said Dr. Murat Koc. “We talked to the people for meeting requirements and Cabbaroglu contacted us about donating the materials in his hospital.”

Among the materials are operating tables, gynecology units, halogen lamps, gas systems, patient beds, rustproof equipment, surgical kits, stretchers, mammography and scope devices, computers, power supplies, printers, kitchen, and cleaning equipment, Koc said.

The materials were delivered on seven trucks from Van to Idlib, he added.

Touching on the faculty’s situation, Koc said the faculty trains doctors and provides services to 4 million people in Idlib.

The faculty requires medical equipment and drugs, especially anesthetic and basic medical imaging devices.
