Turkey’s annual inflation rate is projected to decrease to 18.78% in August, an Anadolu Agency survey found on Friday.
The annual inflation rate in July was 18.95%, up 1.42 percentage points from the previous month.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) will announce the consumer prices index for August on Sept. 3.
A group of 16 economists polled by Anadolu Agency forecast that monthly inflation averaged at 0.72%, varying between 0.30% and 1.83%, in August.
Turkey’s Central Bank raised its year-end inflation forecast to 14.1% for 2021, up from 12.2% in its previous report.
Meanwhile, economists’ year-end inflation expectations rose by 70 basis points to 16.79% compared to the previous survey.
