Turkey’s daily power consumption up 1.43% on July 25

Turkey’s daily electricity consumption increased by 1.43% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 863,958 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,099 megawatt-hours at 22.00 local time on Sunday, data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage was at its lowest at 29,487 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 875,828 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 1.44% increase from Saturday.

Turkey’s electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30.2% of total electricity consumption, wind plants held a 16.4% while lignite plants comprised 13.5%.

On Sunday, Turkey’s electricity exports amounted to 14,477 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,925 megawatt-hours.
