Zelenskyy Submits Bills to Extend Mobilization and Martial Law for 90 More Days

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has submitted two bills to parliament aimed at extending the country’s mobilization and martial law for an additional 90 days.

According to Anadolu Agency, the bills have been made available on the Verkhovna Rada’s online portal and are currently under review by the parliamentary committee on national security, defense, and intelligence. These legislative proposals seek to prolong the state of martial law in Ukraine from May 9 to August 6.

President Zelenskyy initially declared martial law and general mobilization on February 24, 2022, coinciding with the onset of Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine. Since then, the measures have been renewed multiple times to address ongoing security challenges.
