The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for severe weather on Friday afternoon.
As stated, the warning is valid from 5 pm on Friday 12 January until 12 pm on Saturday 13 January, during which time a combination of rain and isolated thunderstorms is expected, particularly on the western and southern coasts.
Total precipitation is likely to locally exceed 50 mm in the six-hour period, the statement concludes.
