Beijing: China’s President Xi Jinping on Monday expressed his determination to face upcoming challenges “without hesitation” as the country prepares to celebrate the Chinese New Year, as reported by state media.
According to Anadolu Agency, Xi emphasized the importance of addressing problems and obstacles directly during a high-level reception marking the Chinese New Year. He expressed confidence in China’s ability to make progress in reform and development by strengthening conviction and tackling risks head-on.
Xi outlined the country’s objectives for the coming year, which include deepening reforms, expanding high-standard opening up, guarding against risks in key areas, and promoting sustained economic recovery. Reflecting on the past year, Xi acknowledged the challenges faced but highlighted the resilience and achievements made, describing them as “very encouraging.”
As the Chinese New Year approaches, it is estimated that 250 million people will undertake intra-provincial travel on Wednesday. The ‘chunyun’ travel rush during the 40-day Spring Festival is anticipated to reach a record 9 billion trips nationwide.
