Workshop on Cultural Heritage Innovation discusses needs and future synergies

The Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence organized recently a workshop entitled ‘Cultural Heritage Innovation: needs, opportunities, and future synergies’, as part of the ENGINEER project, which aims to enhance the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics of the Cyprus University of Technology research and innovation potentials through coordination and support actions provided by the Twinning call.

A press release by the centre, says that the workshop brought together distinguished researchers, experts, and professionals from the field of cultural heritage in Cyprus, with significant participation from CUT students as well. The presentations highlighted the importance of innovation for better protection, management, and documentation of cultural heritage, stressing the need to promote innovative solutions and advanced engineering approaches.

Presentations were delivered on issues such as diverse and innovative activities in the field of cultural heritage, a pioneering method for semi-automatic identifica
tion of looting activities using satellite remote sensing, challenges of managing cultural heritage in the 21st century and innovative audience engagement strategies.
