ISTANBUL: The US trade deficit for goods fell by 2.5% to $96.8 billion in June, according to data released Wednesday.
This figure was below the expected $98.8 billion.
The trade deficit for goods in June decreased by $2.5 billion from approximately $99.4 billion in May, the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau reported.
The May deficit, the largest on record since May 2023, was revised down from $100.6 billion to $99.4 billion.
In June, exports of goods totaled $172.3 billion, up $4.3 billion from May.
Imports of goods in June were approximately $269.2 billion, an increase of $1.7 billion from the previous month.
