US stock exchanges closed mixed on Monday.
The Dow Jones was up 40 points, or 0.12%, to 33,431. The S&P 500 rose 2 points, or 0.07%, to close flat at 4,048.
The Nasdaq, on the other hand, decreased 13 points, or 0.11%, to 11,675 at the time.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 1.1% to 18.69, while the 10-year US Treasury yield increased 0.5% to 3.983%.
The dollar index declined 0.2% to 104.33, while the euro added 0.4% to $1.0677 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold trimming 0.5% to $1,846 per ounce and silver decreasing 1.2% to $21.00.
Oil prices were up around 1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $86.31 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $80.57.
