After two winless nights, the combined jackpot prize of well-known US lotteries Powerball and Mega Millions has topped the $1 billion level. As there was no winner in Monday's drawing, Powerball's prize reached $725 million, before taxes. Meanwhile, as there was also no winner in Mega Millions' Tuesday drawing, its prize next time will be $560 million, before taxes. Both the Mega Millions and Powerball drawings are held twice a week, with tickets costing $2. The odds of winning the jackpot are admittedly slim: about one in 303 million for Mega Millions and one in 292 million for Powerball. In February, winner Edwin Castro got the Powerball's record prize of $2.04 billion. The record for the biggest Mega Millions' jackpot was $1.5 billion back in 2018.
