US official in Cyprus to be briefed on crisis management support in the region

US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, Richard Verma, arrived in Cyprus and will be briefed on ongoing planning to support crisis management in the region.

As the US Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, says in a post on X platform, Verma is in Cyprus ”to visit key Cyprus logistical facilities and be briefed on ongoing planning to support crisis management in the region.”

”This visit is the next step in a continued, collaborative partnership between US and Cyprus to enhance security and stability in the East Med,” Fisher concludes.

USS Roosevelt docks in Limassol

Meanwhile, in another post on X, Fisher welcomes the American destroyer USS Roosevelt, that docked at the port of Limassol.

”The ship and crew welcomed aboard Cyprus Navy officers and sailors. US and Cyprus remain committed to ensuring freedom of navigation in the East Med,” the post reads.
