US finish Group A flawless after beating Bosnia 121-59 in 2022 Women’s Basketball World Cup

The reigning champions US finished Group A flawless after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 121-59 in the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup on Tuesday.

 

Kelsey Plum led her team to a fifth win in five games with 20 points and seven assists, while Chelsea Gray contributed with 16 points and seven assists in the match held in Sydney.

 

Nikolina Elez was the best Bosnian player on the court with 19 points.

 

The US top Group A standings, while Bosnia are ranked sixth with five points.

 

Australia finish Group B at top spot

 

The hosts Australia finished Group B at the top spot with 9 points after beating Japan 71-54 on Tuesday.

 

Samantha Whitcomb and Marianna Tolo carried the hosts to victory with 15 and 14 points respectively.

 

Monica Okoye was the top scorer of the Japanese side with 14 points.

 

Australia took the top spot with nine points, while Japan are placed 5th with six points.

 

The quarterfinals are slated for Thursday, while the semifinals are on Friday. The third place and final games will be played on Saturday.
