Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 4.3% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 889,416 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,585 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,590 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 886,506 megawatt-hours on Tuesday marking an increase of 4.2% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21.3% of total generation, while hydropower and lignite plants contributed 21% and 14.9%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 13,440 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,347 megawatt-hours.
