Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 14.7% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 930,946 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,029 megawatt-hours at 11.00 local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,416 megawatt-hours at 04.00 local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 920,975 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 14.9% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.4% while wind plants comprised 16.6%.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 11,239 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,868 megawatt-hours.
