Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 1.70% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 950,468 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,402 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,640 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 950,370 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 1.76% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from natural gas constituted 26.6% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.4% while hydroelectricity plants comprised 17.8%.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 13,683 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,778 megawatt-hours.
