Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 9.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 920,059 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,906 megawatt-hours at 09.00 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,846 megawatt-hours at 07.00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 911,453 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 9.6% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 23.6% of total generation, while natural gas plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 21.3% and 14.7%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 7,703 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,309 megawatt-hours.
