Turkiye’s Borsa Istanbul flat at Tuesday close

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index closed the day at 2,046.03 points on Tuesday, slightly up 0.04% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 2,065.70 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rose marginally by 0.87 points from Monday’s close of 2,045.16 points.

The index’s lowest value during the day was 2,017.99 points, while its daily high was 2,068.17.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.64 trillion Turkish liras (some $119.3 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 42 billion liras ($3.05 billion).

During the day, 22 stocks on the index rose, 74 fell, and four were unchanged compared to Monday’s close.

The highest trading volumes were posted by iron/steel producers Kardemir and Eregli, and national flag carrier Turkish Airlines.

Kardemir was the best performer, with its shares up 9.44%, while stocks of pipe and tube producer Erbosan saw the sharpest drop, 5.15%.

One ounce of gold was traded for $1,815.20 by market close, down from $1,805.00.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $82.09 per barrel as of 6.10 p.m. local time (1510GMT).
