Turkish stocks looking up midweek’s open

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul opened at 2,028.88 points on Wednesday, up 13.45 points, or 0.67%, from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 index closed the day at 2,015.43 points, increasing by 12.23 points, or 0.61%, with a daily trading volume of over 24.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 13.3910 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 13.3720.

The euro/lira exchange rate was increased to 15.0955 from 15.0750, while a British pound traded for 18.1121 liras, up from 18.1020.

Brent crude oil sold for around $89.30 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
