Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, ended Wednesday’s trading session with a slight increase, closing at 9,639.77 points. This represents a marginal rise of 0.04% from the previous day’s closing figures, indicating a day of relatively stable trading activity on the stock market.
According to Anadolu Agency, the index experienced a gain of 3.65 points from Tuesday’s close. Throughout the day, the index fluctuated between a low of 9,618.88 and a high of 9,744.57. The total transaction volume for the day reached 99.1 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $2.86 billion, showcasing a robust level of trading.
In the foreign exchange market, the USD/TRY exchange rate was recorded at 34.6590 by 6:30 p.m. local time (1530GMT). Meanwhile, the EUR/TRY exchange rate stood at 36.5390, and the GBP/TRY was trading at 43.8390. On the commodities front, the price of gold was noted at $2,640.80 per ounce, while Brent oil was priced at $72.50 per barrel, reflecting the ongoing trends in global
commodity markets.
