Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL: The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 10,320.02 points, up by 1.52% or 154.49 points from the previous close. On Wednesday, the BIST 100 index rose by 1.14% to 10,165.52 points with a daily transaction volume of 89 billion liras ($2.76 billion). The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.2655 as of 10.40 a.m. (0740GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.1490, while the GBP/TRY rate was 41.3160.
