Turkish Stock Exchange Opens Week on High Note

Istanbul: Trkiye’s benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened Monday at 10,869.00 points, marking an increase of 0.26% or 28.41 points from its previous closure.

According to Anadolu Agency, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index concluded last week with a 1.05% rise, closing at 10,840.59 points and achieving a daily trading volume of 121.1 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $3.3 billion.

As of 9.53 am local time (0653GMT), currency exchange rates were noted with the US dollar trading at 36.6902 Turkish liras, the euro at 39.9268, and the British pound at 47.4414. In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold was recorded at $2,996.69, while Brent oil was priced around $71.06 per barrel.
