ISTANBUL: The Turkish benchmark stock index ended Tuesday at a record closing level of 11,139.34 points, up 0.67% from the previous close.?
The BIST 100 index started the week at 11,109.68 points, earning 74.49 points from Friday’s close.?
Borsa Istanbul was closed on Monday as the country observed Democracy and National Unity Day to mark eighth anniversary of the July 15, 2016 defeated coup.
The lowest value of the index for the day was 11,102.64, while its daily high was 11,188.12 – a historical high level.
Some 47 indices rose in value by the end of the day, while 48 declined.
The total transaction volume reached 101 billion Turkish liras ($3.06 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9.45 trillion liras ($287.15 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 33.0720 as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.9980, and the GBP/TRY traded at 42.8990.
The price of an ounce of gold was $2,463.90, while a barrel price of Brent oil was around $83.30.
