Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, closed at 8,862.32 points on Wednesday, marking a 2.83% rise from the previous day’s close. The index began the trading day at 8,647.94 points and gained 243.75 points by the end of the day.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index experienced fluctuations throughout the day, recording a low of 8,586.90 points and a high of 8,915.87 points. By the close of trading, 88 indexes had increased in value, while 12 had declined.
The day’s total transaction volume amounted to 98 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $2.86 billion, with the overall market capitalization of the index reaching 7.7 trillion liras, or $224.8 billion. As of 7.15 p.m. (1615GMT), the exchange rates stood at 34.2145 for USD/TRY, 36.7610 for EUR/TRY, and 44.0615 for GBP/TRY.
In addition, the price of one ounce of gold was $2,668.86, and Brent oil was priced around $75.4 per barrel.
