ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday welcomed Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye in Ankara, marking a significant moment in diplomatic relations between Turkey and Senegal. The meeting took place at the Presidential Complex, where Erdogan personally received Faye at the main entrance.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ceremony was marked by a display of unity and respect, as the national anthems of both Turkey and Senegal were played. The event featured flags and soldiers representing the 16 Turkish states established throughout history, adding to the grandeur of the occasion. A 21-gun salute further underscored the significance of the visit.
After the formal ceremony, the two leaders engaged in bilateral and inter-delegation talks, focusing on strengthening ties between their nations.
