Turkish forces kill 8 PKK terrorists

Security forces killed eight PKK terrorists, including four women, in Turkey's eastern Tunceli province on Saturday, the provincial governor's office said in a statement.

In a separate counter-terror operation in southeastern Sanliurfa province, police units arrested four Syrian nationals for being members of a terrorist organization, said a security official who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restriction on speaking to the media.

PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU. It has waged a terror campaign against Turkey for more than 30 years, during which more than 40,000 people have been killed.

Since the group resumed its armed campaign in July 2015, more than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives.
