Turkish First Lady and Japan’s Crown Princess Celebrate Diplomatic Milestone in Ankara.

Ankara: Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan met Japan’s Crown Princess Kiko on Wednesday in Ankara, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Japanese-Turkish diplomatic relations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan and Kiko embarked on a significant cultural visit to the Nation’s Library in the capital. Their tour began at the Fatih Sultan Mehmet exhibition, which honors the 571st anniversary of Istanbul’s conquest. This exhibition served as a symbolic backdrop for the meeting of these two influential figures, highlighting the historical ties between the two nations.

Following the exhibition, the first lady and the crown princess proceeded to the Cihannuma Hall where they captured the moment with a souvenir photograph. The visit continued with a tour of the Japan section in the library, which features an impressive collection of 600 books in Japanese, demonstrating a tangible link between the two countries’ cultures.

Expressing her hopes for the future, Erdogan shared on X, “Our wish is for this meaningful vi
sit to further strengthen the cooperation between our countries.” This sentiment echoes the purpose of the royal visit, which aims to deepen the bilateral relationship.

Japan’s Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko’s arrival in Ankara on Tuesday evening marked their first visit to Trkiye. This visit, scheduled to conclude on Sunday, highlights the enduring and respectful bond shared by the two nations, with promises of enhanced cooperation and mutual understanding.
