Turkish Defense Chief Engages in Strategic Dialogues with Kosovo and Iraqi Kurdish Leaders

Antalya: Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler recently conducted high-level meetings with key officials from Kosovo and the Iraqi Kurdish region. These discussions took place at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2025, a significant diplomatic event held in the Turkish resort city.

According to Anadolu Agency, Minister Guler’s first meeting was with Kosovo’s Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci. The two leaders focused on bilateral and regional defense and security issues, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between their nations. The Turkish National Defense Ministry shared insights into this dialogue through a post on X, highlighting the constructive nature of the talks.

Additionally, Guler held separate discussions with Fikrim Damka, Kosovo’s Regional Development Minister, and Nechirvan Barzani, the president of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG). However, specific details regarding the conversations with Damka and Barzani have not been disclosed to the public. These meetings underscore Turkey’s ongoing efforts to strengthen regional ties and foster collaborative security strategies in collaboration with neighboring entities.
