ISTANBUL, -- A court in Istanbul on Thursday ordered arrest of Fethulla Gulen, a main opposition leader who lives in exile in the United States.
The criminal court issued the arrest warrant against Gulen, charging him with ordering the recent futile bid to depose the Turkish government, a dramatic event that happened on July 15.
Authorities have cracked down on Gulen's followers and confiscated properties of establishments and companied affiliated to him.
Ankara has urged Washington to extradite Gulen, whom it accuses of being the number-one mastermind of the foiled attempt to overthrow the government.
