Turkey’s daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.3% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 898,033 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,120 megawatt-hours at 21.00 local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,794 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 906,705 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.4% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey’s electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 14.4% while wind plants comprised 14.3%.
On Sunday, Turkey’s electricity exports amounted to 13,675 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,111 megawatt-hours.
