JERUSALEM, March 24 Turkish authorities have detained a Japanese man who is suspected of trying to join the Daesh terrorist group, Japan's Jiji Press reported, citing local media report Wednesday.
The man, 24, was held in Gaziantep, southern Turkey, on Tuesday on suspicion of seeking to cross the border into Syria to participate in the group, the reports said. The name of the man was not disclosed.
Turkish authorities plan to deport him from Turkey after completing investigations, the reports said.
The man has contacted an Islamic State member through social media, according to the reports.
