Milwaukee: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump staged a garbage truck event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in what was seen as a visual response to US President Joe Biden’s recent comments. The event took place just days before the presidential election, with Trump visibly wearing an orange vest resembling a sanitation worker’s uniform as he climbed into a garbage truck branded with his campaign logo.
According to Anadolu Agency, the event was a reaction to Biden’s use of the word “garbage” during a campaign call. Trump and his allies interpreted the comment as a slur against his supporters, although Biden clarified that he was criticizing a racist joke made at a Trump rally. The joke, delivered by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.” Trump has not apologized for the joke and claimed he was not familiar with Hinchcliffe.
During the event, Trump stated, “250 million Americans are not garbage,” and criticized Biden for allegedly failing to respect American
s. Trump accused Biden of being unable to lead America if he does not love Americans. In recent weeks, Trump has labeled his political opponents as “enemies of the people” and has expressed intentions to prosecute and jail them or deploy the US army against them.
The event in Wisconsin, a key swing state, is part of Trump’s broader campaign strategy as the US prepares for Election Day, which is scheduled for next Tuesday, November 5.
